Development of clinical guidelines for early diagnosis of congenital heart disease

Congenital heart diseases (CHDs) are the most common type of birth defect. Success in the early detection of congenital heart diseases depends on a large extent on physicians’ awareness of newborns, infants, and children clinical examinations.
This guideline has been developed with the aim of early detection of congenital heart diseases after conducting a pilot study in Isfahan (in phase 2) and trying to implement the program throughout the country after providing the necessary infrastructure in 4 chapters:
1- Clinical instructions for screening newborns at birth by pulse oximetry
2- Clinical examinations of newborns at birth
3- Clinical examinations of infants less than 2 months
4- Clinical examinations of preschool children
